Just think you can have muscadine smoothie shots to add to your smoothies for all year! Muscadines are powerhouses of antioxidants for your body but they are only in season for about a month. So that means that you need to preserve some to have for the rest of the year.
What I do is wash the muscadines that are fully ripe for the most flavor and put them and a small amount of water (just enough liquid to make it blend) into my Vitamix and blend until it is just a liquid. I use the whole muscadine, hull and seed because most of your nutrition is in the hull and seed. Pour this liquid into ice cube trays and freeze. When completely frozen you can pour these cubes into a freezer bag and store in your freezer until ready to drop some in your smoothies.
Or you can wash the muscadines and let them dry and make a single layer on a jelly roll pan and freeze. When they are completely frozen pour them into a freezer bag to enjoy for smoothies. Freezing them this way allows you to take out what you need each time. They are not frozen together.
